RECORDED WEBINAR  The Family Justice Initiative and the ABA Center on Children and the Law hosted a webinar on trauma exposure for attorneys on December 16, 2020.

Child welfare attorneys are regularly exposed to and interacting with trauma. Repeated exposure to the details of traumatic events can result in behavioral, physical, and emotional consequences that can affect the practitioner’s professional and personal life. Presenters discussed how to identify and address trauma exposure responses, including practical steps legal organizations and attorneys can take to mitigate the impact of trauma, so that attorneys are able to provide high-quality legal representation and be the best advocates for their clients.
