Accessing Court Data

The Interactive Dependency Timeliness Report (iDTR) provides data that courts can use to manage, assess, and improve their court systems on a local level. The annual Dependent Children in Washington State: Case Timeliness and Outcomes report presents information about dependent children and the processing and outcomes of their cases on a county and state level. The Washington State Dependency Timeliness Dashboard provides data for the state and by county, including case filing and termination numbers, court timeliness measures and race and ethnicity breakdowns for children in care.


Change Management Tools

The AOC Family Treatment Court Team has created a suite of Data Resources for court teams to implement and measure change in dependency court systems. Check out their Change Management Tools for a comprehensive walk-through in implementing action in court teams through the change management process and read examples from courts who have successful used this 5-phase process to make sustainable improvements. Their Graphs and Charts page provides great information (and examples) on the different ways courts are able to visualize and display their data.


COVID-19 Recovery

In response to the pandemic, courts are changing how they operate and engage with the public.  FYJP has compiled a suite of resources to support court systems in adapting to the circumstances created by the COVID-19 pandemic and guidance on post-pandemic system recovery.


Early Childhood Court Resources

The AOC Early Childhood Courts (ECC) team has created a library of tools and templates to support existing ECCs and sites exploring, including a tool for monitoring enrollment and guidance on identifying indicators for ECC performance.

Parents for Parents

The Parents for Parents (P4P) program is a promising practice that provides peer outreach, engagement and education to parents who are new to dependency court by Parent Allies, parents who have successfully navigated the child welfare system.


Protein for All

Protein for All provides education and resources to engage and support individuals and families who find themselves navigating the legal system while experiencing challenges such as food insecurity, homelessness or high levels of stress. 


Safety Summit Project

The Safety Summit Project is the result of a training partnership between the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) and the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF). The goal is to help local courts and system partners enhance safety practice by developing a common framework and language for addressing child safety and ensuring that courts engage parties in meaningful inquiries about safety planning and case planning.


Safety Snapshots Mini-Series

This  mini-learning series contains short LEARNING, PRACTICE and KNOWLEDGE CHECK lessons that are all centered around the effective application of the Safety Framework in child welfare. Whether you are a first-time learner or a seasoned professional who needs a quick refresher, this learning series is for all professionals who work within the dependency court system. Lessons are just minutes in length and easy to navigate.


Trauma, Resilience & Hope

Emerging research in neuroscience, epigenetics, resilience and hope science is changing the way courts and child welfare agencies work with and make decisions about children and families who have experienced trauma.
